My Experience with CBD

Hi Folks,

This is not medical advice, it’s literature meant to provoke thought and discussion. Please read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page for more information. My intentions with this post are to inspire people to explore possible remedies for life-changing issues and ailments. I don’t want to persuade anyone to consume anything, rather, I want to share the experiences that I have had using CBD to treat things like anxiety, stress/pressure, and general wellness. Without further ado, I present my case for why CBD is a beneficial part of adult physical and mental wellness

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a natural compound in hemp plants that contains potential health benefits, it can be found in national chain store pharmacies like those found in Kroger and even in small corner convenient stores like plaid pantry. CBD products come in all shapes and sizes such as oils, tinctures, creams, beverages, and gummies to help with various health concerns, ranging from pain and anxiety to sleep and skin issues.

For years, my wife and I have enjoyed a sparkling water CBD product called WYLD made by a company in Oregon, the beverages typically have about 25 milligrams of CBD per serving and they are the elixir of the gods for the two of us. We consume the CBD waters as either rare treats and small rewards for ourselves, or first level defenses to life’s routine problems like stress and anxiety. Something as simple and convenient as a sparkling water has the power to calm our minds and remove the distracting stress of the moment. These products are not meant to impair you or make you feel “high”, these products reduce my stress and calm my nerves, as simple as that. It’s commonly accepted CBD products help with better sleep and skin complexion, but that was not my experience, I haven't noticed any difference with sleep patterns or skin appearance. If you're open minded and willing to try a miracle compound like CBD, the two questions you need to investigate are dosage recommendations and price points. For first-timers, I wouldn't recommend spending more than $10 for a product (unless there are at least 2 servings) and I wouldn't consumer more than 20 or 25 milligrams in a day.

As with any supplement, or vitamin, it doesn’t make sense to take more than your body can process in a functional way. In other words, there is a point of consumption at which the benefits disappear and you’re just wasting money and resources. Said very simply, don’t take more than a daily dosage of CBD. Here is a link to what appears to be a well-written dosage recommendation.

I’m not a doctor, not a physician or clinician, I’m a writer with a bachelor’s degree in a technical field that has nothing to do with medicine or health advice. I can’t morally give you medicinal or pharmaceutical advice, please consult your doctor before changing your wellness lifestyle.

Now let’s cover the safety stuff, here is what the CDC had to say about CBD. My caveat for you is that there are merchants in the world who don’t care as much as is needed for the health and safety of others, which means there are scams and other concerns with purchasing CBD products from unreputable sources. For example, not all products contain the amount of CBD they claim and some may contain harmful additives.

There are 3rd-party reviews like those found on The Cannabis Speakeasy which may help determine the CBD vendors who can be trusted with your wellness. Use your best judgement and try to gather more than one opinion.

Thanks for reading, and cheers to good health and mental wellness.
